We have created the Curious Owl studio as a creative escape for adults. The modern world is fast moving, pressurised and as adults (especially as women) we recognised that we tend to be at the bottom of the priority list, and that taking time for ourselves can feel selfish and indulgent.
Well, we are here to give you the permission to take that time out. To catch up with friends without having to go to a pub or coffee shop, to rediscover that creative muscle that may have been sat quietly since someone at school told you your drawing wasn't good enough, or that art wasn't your thing. Well they were wrong. Everyone is creative and we are here to support you to have a go, let go of perfectionism and go crazy with the glitter.
Whether you choose to freestyle it with Pick n Paint, or come along to a workshop where you'll get full guidance and support, we're here for you.

You can come with friends or come solo (don't worry, we are always happy to chat and keep you company, or we can just leave you be, it's up to you.

Makers Table Sessions: Advance booking required
Tables: Booked in 2-hour slots
Coming on your own?
At our 11am Pick n Paint sessions on Friday and Saturday, we offer a community table for anyone booking solo who’d prefer not to sit alone.
You can paint, chat and enjoy the session alongside others, or simply focus on your own piece.
No pressure either way.

Where to Find Us
We’re based right in the heart of Hull. Warm, welcoming, easy to find, and surprisingly simple to park near.
♿ Accessibility:
We have one step to get into the studio, then everything is on one level. The street and path around the studio are cobbled, so unfortunately, we are unable to provide stable ramp access.
🚗 Parking: Free and paid options close by.
